Joining a sorority
The good thing about after is how clear it is. The bad thing is you can’t go back and do things you might have done differently. Now that I’m graduated, I’ve had time to think about things from my first year and one thing in particular that I might have done differently.
I wasn’t your typical freshman student. When I graduated from high school, I decided not to go to college right away. Instead, I joined the army. My parents weren’t happy with that decision and announced that if I ever decided to go to college, I should pay for it myself. The GI law would take care of that as soon as I got out of the army. But the whole issue of money was mooted when a plane crash took my parents away a few months before I got fired at the end of my second shift.
